DHCP server installation in virtualbox

#1

Hi,

Did anyone tried installation of DHCP server in virtual box? I know that virtual box will be having dhcp server enabled with the range of (192.168.56.101-56.254).

I wanted to disable DHCP in VBOX and wanted to install DHCP on my centOS machine with the different range. Will this works?

Yes it works, actually your VBOX will communicate with internet using NAT, before going to configure dhcp server on virtual machine you should do some work out.

  1. You have to assign static ip to your vm1

  2. Set up private network.

  3. Make sure all the vm’s are communicating with each other.
