(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs

[root@localhost ~]# netstat -lnp | grep :80
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:8080 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 1857/unicorn master
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 1632/nginx

Can you please help … thanks in advance

As apache use port 80 m which is already used by nginx here , if you are running nginx and apache both then you need to assign different port to apache in httpd.conf or apache2.conf file .where you can find “Listen 80” change the port.

Or if you are running apache in stand alone then stop nginx with “service nginx stop” , and start httpd service

thanks

[root@localhost ~]# service nginx stop
nginx: unrecognized service

Please check

ok run

kill -9 1632 (it will kill your nginx process which have process id 1632)

then start httpd service

Not succeed

[root@localhost ~]# service nginx stop
nginx: unrecognized service
[root@localhost ~]# kill -9 1632
[root@localhost ~]# service httpd restart
Stopping httpd: [FAILED]
Starting httpd: httpd: Could not reliably determine the server’s fully qualified domain name, using ::1 for ServerName

thanks I have changed my apache port number to 8042 … its working fine

But I want to remove the nginx from the server, cloud you please help thanks.

Hi Dhanupreeth ,

first you need to check how nginx installed on your system … such as by compile or by yum , if it is installed with yum then you can uninstall it by “yum remove ngin” or if it is installed by compile then you need to remove installation folders. you can find the installation folder by whereis nginx command.

Thanks
