Install Moodle on CentOS 6 server

Hello! Great fan of yours here from Ciudad de México!

First of all, thanks for your site. I am a subscriber and I love it.

How can I upgrade my CentOS 6 server (MySQL, PHP and so on) so I can install the latest Moodle. I do not want to mess it up because I am a newbie but responsible for my patient association’s website.

Please explain all the steps involved, and tricks and those good practices you usually give in any of your interesting articles.

Hi

You can update your server using yum to latest release in 6 i.e. 6.8

# yum update

the above command will take care of updating all the packages which are available with in the repository even MySql, PHP…
