Subscription manager register not working

I am new to linux and i have red hat partner account with a company/organization name attached to the account and i am running the Linux 7 OS on vmware running on windows 7. When i try registering the account on with
subscription-manager register --username myusername --password my password
i will get a message that my “username cannot be registered with any organization”

can any one help me out i will appreciate

But i have tried that already and it didn’t work must the Linux OS be Licensed before i can register?

Hi while registering your system to rhn network try your username instead of using your mail id.
