Using rename command to change multiple file names

I am new to linux and have a basic question.
I am trying to rename 100 of my files which name as ’ 2010_10_10_0001.jpg to 2015_10_0001.jpg
another one is like 2015_01_01_abcd.jpg to 2015_01_01.jpg
I want to know how this can be done using rename command on linux.

Hi.

There are several ways to do it. One way is the following:

1.- 2010_10_10_0001.jpg to 2015_10_0001.jpg

2.- 2015_01_01_abcd.jpg to 2015_01_01.jpg
